Ned Strong
Chief Executive

A successful start-up entrepreneur, investor and operating executive, Mr. Strong has over 20 years' professional experience at growing technology and services companies, international consulting firms and multinationals in product marketing, channel development, sales and business strategy. Prior to starting Cavitus, he spent 5 years as a 'hands-on' angel investor for technology growth companies in Australia and the U.S, and served as a Non-Executive Director for Lake Technology (ASX), since acquired by Dolby Laboratories (NASD). From 1996 through 1999, Mr. Strong co-founded Bluegum Group, a Top 20 electronic manufacturing services global company and recognised Australian venture capital success, which was sold to Solectron (NYSE) in 2000. Prior to starting Bluegum Group, he was variously a founding Partner in a small, Australian venture advisory firm, Seventh Wave Ventures; a strategy consultant to technology companies for Gemini Consulting in the U.S and Asia; and an employee for IBM's ROLM division in Silicon Valley. Mr. Strong holds an MBA from Columbia University, where he was designated an International Fellow, an M.Phil in International Relations from the University of Cambridge, and an A.B. (Honours and Distinction) from Stanford University.
 
       
 
Dr. Darren Bates
Director/Technology and CTO

Dr. Bates holds both a PhD in high power ultrasonics applied to industrial chemical processing and a Bachelors degree in Chemistry from the University of Coventry (UK). Over 20 years, his professional career has focused on building a globally-recognised technical/engineering consulting and equipment supply business in the application of high-power ultrasonics across multiple industries, with a significant focus on food and beverages. Dr. Bates' clients have included Bundaberg Brewery, PepsiCo, Tropicana/PepsiCo, Proctor & Gamble, Food Science Australia/CSIRO, Campden and Chorleywood Food Research, Campden Food Research, Cargill, Golden Circle, Leatherhead Food Research, Mars, McDonalds, Pillsbury, Sanitarium, Valley Beef, ConAgra, Cadbury Schweppes, Suedzucker and Kraft/Phillip Morris. Other notable clients have included Ciba Chemicals, Dow Chemical, ICI, Orica, M&M Mars, Cargill Inc, Ingomar USA, Ultraforce Inc USA, Broins USA, National Food Centre Chicago USA, CSIRO Exploration and Mining, RioTinto, Mosaic USA, Citrosuco Brazil, Masterfoods UK, Masterfoods Australia, Masterfoods USA, and the Singapore Oil Refinery. He is a member of the Royal Society of Chemists in the U.K. and a member of the European Society of Sonochemistry.
 
       
 
Andrew Yap
Director of Oenology and Industry Marketing

Mr. Yap has had a successful 30-year career in the Australian and New Zealand wine industries, as a lecturer, researcher and consultant and counts a generation of Australian winemakers amongst his former Roseworthy Agricultural College/University of Adelaide students, where he was Head of, and Senior Lecturer in, the Department of Viticulture and Oenology. Today, Mr. Yap is a Honorary Wine Science lecturer and Research Fellow at the University of Auckland, New Zealand, Adjunct Research Fellow at the University of South Australia, and Visiting Senior Lecturer in Oenology at the University of Adelaide. During his career, he has also been resident Visiting Scientist at the University of Melbourne, Australian Wine Research Institute, SA Brewing Company and the former Southcorp Wines. In addition, Mr. Yap worked as Chief Food Microbiologist for South Australian Fishermen's Cooperative (SAFCOL), and food and wine consultant to the Federal Government, Australian Wine Export Council and numerous wine companies. Mr. Yap holds a Masters Degree in Agricultural Science from the University of Adelaide and a Bachelors Degree in Science from the University of Malaya. He is a member of both the Australian Society for Microbiology and the Australian Society of Viticulture and Oenology.
 
       
 
Richard McLoughlin
Director of Engineering and Product Support

Mr. McLoughlin has had over 35 years' experience as an R&D manager, project manager for complex product installations and process engineer. A qualified research chemist with a Bachelor's Degree in Applied Science (University of South Australia), he has significant experience in the design and manufacture of ultrasonic cleaning equipment for hospital, industrial and aerospace applications. Mr. McLoughlin's career has included employment in a variety of industries with core technology utilising process chemistry, including Scrimber International (reconstituted timber products), SA Water (water utility), Kimberly Clark (consumer products from pulp and paper), Fasson/Avery International (pressure sensitive labels), Advertiser Group/News (newspapers and continuous stationary printed products) and Research Laboratories of Australia (electrostatic printing IP development).
 
       
 
Bill Wright
Director of Finance
& Product Management

Mr. Wright has spent 30 years as an operating executive and consultant in Finance, Product Management and Marketing. His prior line management experience has included roles as General Manager, Strategic Planning Manager, Financial Controller, Development Manager and Product Manager in the ultrasonics, White Goods, manufacturing and financial services industries, at companies like Simpson Pope (now Electrolux), General Credits (now Westpac Bank) and Delfin (now Lend Lease). Mr. Wright has also worked as a management consultant in transportation, manufacturing, printing, industrial goods, food, retail and the public sector. He was awarded an MBA and a Bachelor's Degree in Commerce from the University of Melbourne.
